riyuu jiyuu journal ~

Yeah, so has been another episode of totally ignoring this journal. Bah. S'not like anyone really reads it... But I'll try to get back as soon as possible, yeah?

(Currently at home during huge break before Russian class)

Just to say that this journal should soon be up and running again. Rei has had her time off, and is now totally refreshed and renewed and determined to sort life out. Or... Will be tomorrow sometime, when it isn't so late.

This journal has not been updated in some time. Rei is currently suffering from a lot of shit, and is using up the last of her kindness by not allowing herself to kill others with angst.

As of Mothering Sunday a few days back, this journal is on hold, paused, hiatusing, on it's deathbed... Whatever you want to call it. Please to be not checking back soon because you probably won't find anything new here.

In other news, I had my first day at work today. I met two of the people I'd be working with, along with some other random staff. I learnt how to do the tills and what needs ot be written down and so on. I don't understand why they tear off the labels from the clothes, but it is a pretty old fashioned place. I'm tired as hell though. Guess I should hurry up and get used to it, ne?

It's not uncommon to find chickens wondering around outside our house ~ In the car-park and such, but...

Obviously, living in the countryside and all, I see pheasants a lot. Just not normally amongst the chickens that roam our little cul-de-sac. It was fun watching the cats following it's scent after it had left :3

Nothing much happening today. I had about 5 hours sleep (didn't go to bed until late ~ watching part of KuRt live) but don't feel that tired at all :)

More alice nine. goodies. This time it's 5 Jewels icons and 9 bases from Neo Genesis vol. 9 scans.

Tomorrow I need to cook more shortbread ~ much tasty :3 I think I'll cook the sultana bread today, else I'm going to be bored. Or I may continue trying to code my Saga layout. Can't get the entries to line up correctly... You can click here to see the layout 'in action', or view the screenshot.

Mine and jamie-kay180's shared graphics community, blckflwr, is now showing signs of life. The profile page has been coded, and the resources and rules posts are up. The community has been baptised with a post by me :3

I've always been more of a layout making person, I think. I don't like being restrained to a 100x100 pixel box. However ~ there is something to be said for the fact that icons require only limited coding, and that's not even necessary. But, thanks to Maddisu, I found some nice little icon tutorial communities (links to which can be found in the resources post), and just had to try a few out. I have the weird version of Adobe Photoshop ~ Elements 3.0 ~ so most things I can't work out how to use. Instead, I just improvised and managed to produce the following:

They aren't the best ~ fair enough, but they are a heell of a lot better than whatever I was able to scrape up before. I'm very proud of them :)

In other news... I have received an order for another chocolate shortbread (double the amount of last time) due Tuesday, a pasta bake for Wednesday, possibly Thursday, and I need to bake some sultana bread in the bread-maker when I have the time.
戒-wannabe-in-the-making is very happy with this! Plus, she thinks she may make more scones, if she can convince her parents to buy more cream.

Anyway, I need to sleep now.
